The Board of Trustees of the Kennett Library votes to reject the Borough's offer
6/5 Borough Council approves a joint MOU for just the design phase of the project based on terms that were significantly changed from the discussions of the last 14 months, shifting more costs to the Library. The new deal is unfavorable to the Library and it’s ability to raise the funds for a new Library.
6/16 Met with Borough personnel and lawyers on creating an MOU to move forward. No progress.
6/20 The Board of Trustees of the Kennett Library votes to reject the Borough’s offer and to request that the Borough sells the Library the Weinstein lot at the lowest possible price as part of their contribution to the new Library.
6/22 Met with Borough personnel to inform them of the Board of Trustees decision to go it alone and to request that the lot be sold to the Kennett Library at the lowest possible price as the Borough’s contribution to the new Library.
6/27 - 6/30 A series of meetings were held with Kennett Borough personnel to discuss the library's need for the Weinstein lot and to work on joint press releases concerning the library's decision to move forward with a new library on its own.
