The Kennett Square Borough Council unanimously votes to allow the demolition of the 120 S. Willow Street building.

8/6 -  The Kennett Square Borough Council unanimously votes to allow the demolition of the 120 S. Willow Street building. The Library intends to continue the tenants leases until sufficient funds are raised to begin construction.

8/8 -  The 3rd cost estimate for the new Kennett Library comes in at $19.85 million.  A conference call was set for 8/23 to discuss ways to reduce the costs further.

8/9 - The 120 S. Willow Street building is inspected by Housemaster and a report is issued to the Kennett Library.  The Library wants to insure that the building is safe  to continue renting to the existing tenants until it is demolished to make way for the new Library.

8/15 to 8/23  -  HVAC, Electrical and roofing estimates to bring the 120 S. Willow Street Building up to code.

8/16 -  The 120 S. Willow Street lot was surveyed by Register Associates

8/23  - The architects and EDIS presented ideas to reduce the cost to $18,728,439.   The Library Board felt that while the cost was going in the right direction, it was still in excess of the $15 million budget and needed to be reduced further. The architects and EDIS were charged with finding ways to reduce the cost to our target goal of $15
