10/9 - Met with structural engineer to determine if the structure on 124 S. Willow Street can be demolished
10/11 - The Library’s “Through the Looking Glass” Fall fundraiser was held at the Mendenhall and raised $40,000, a 50% increase over last year’s inaugural event.
10/12, 16, 23, 29 - Corrected Borough code violations to allow for continued rental of the property to cover taxes and repairs until construction starts.
10/18 - Met with Fairmount Ventures to discuss the results of the feasibility study and formulate an action plan
10/18 - Met with Lukmire Architects and EDIS to discuss design changes to further cut construction costs.
10/19 - Technology Committee begins the task of designing a new, more user and staff friendly website
10/25 - Conference call with Lukmire Architects to discuss design changes to further reduce the cost of the new library.
10/31 - The Kennett Library signed an Agreement of Sale with the family of Voris Grimes to purchase the 124 S. Willow Street property. Due diligence for 90 days and then closing shortly thereafter. The purchase price is $125,000. The property will provide for additional onsite parking for the new library.
