10/12 The Kennett Library’s first annual fundraising dinner was held at the Mendenhall Inn. Over 100 donors enjoyed a delicious meal and learned about current and future plans for the the library’s programs and services. Attendees were treated to the premiere viewing of the Library’s new promotional video designed to highlight many of the Library’s benefit’s that our cardholders can enjoy.
10/17 The Kennett Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to select EDIS of Wilmington, Delaware as the Construction Managers at Risk for the new library project. EDIS will provide pre-construction services, and once funding has been secured, manage the construction of our new library.
10/24 A public meeting to explain the upcoming Library referendum in New Garden Township was held at the New Garden Township Building. New Garden residents had an opportunity to learn about the Kennett Library’s programs and services and ask questions about the .1 mil dedicated property tax the Library was requesting. The dedicated tax will cost the average homeowner in New Garden, $20.48 per year or 39 cents per week and would bring New Garden’s contribution up to their fair share amount.
