7/7 - Conference call with Fairmount ventures to review progress of feasibility study and refine the list of contacts.
7/17 - Met with the Kennett Square Historical
Architectural Board to
request their approval of a demolition permit for the 120 S. Willow Street
building. The building will be demolished when construction of the new
Library begins after the funds have been raised. The new library building
will extend onto the 120 S. Willow Street property. The demolition was
approved.
7/19 - Conference call with EDIS to discuss ways to reduce the cost of the new Library.
7/27 - Meeting with Dennis Melton, local architect, to discuss ways to reduce the cost of the new library building.
7/30 - Progress update from Fairmont Ventures on the feasibility study which is due to conclude round the end of August.
The fourth redesign of the new library was unveiled and discussed by the building committee. EDIS, our construction manager, is working on a new cost estimate based on the latest design.
The Library’s “Through the Looking Glass” Fall fundraiser was held at the Mendenhall and raised $40,000, a 50% increase over last year’s inaugural event
