10/1 Met with Pat Bokovitz the Director of the Chester County Department of Community Development to bring him up to date on the Capital Campaign and to request a grant for the project.

10/7  Met with Eden Ratliff, Kennett Township’s new Manager to educate him on the Library project and set a date to request a donation to the Capital Campaign from the Board of Supervisors

10/15 Collis Townsend announced that the Kennett Library Board of Trustees had pledged $235,000 towards the capital campaign.

10/15 The Trustees voted to engage 4ward Planning, Inc. to produce an economic development study that will layout the economic impact of our new library to the community.

10/17  The 3rd Annual Kennett Library Benefit was held which raises funds for the operation of the Library.  The Benefit raised $50,000, a 20% increase from 2018.

10/17 It was announced at the Fall Benefit that the Capital campaign has already attracted $5.3 million in donations and pledges.

10/21 The Library completed the purchase of 320 E State Street (the Weinstein Lot).  Total purchase price was $386,000 which was $164,000 under the appraised value of the lot.  The price reduction along with the waiving of permit fees are the Borough’s contribution to the Library’s capital campaign.
