How do I get a Library Card?
We just need proof of address (such as a drivers license or utility bill) and a filled out library card application. If you are unable to provide proof of address, we will make your account Provisional, which means you can check out three items. Once you bring proof, we will change your account to have standard access.
Can I get a library card if I don't live in Chester County
We will need proof of residence and a library card application filled out.
What if I lost my my Library Card?
If you have lost your card, the library will need to issue you a new one. To do this, visit us at the library to receive your new card.
What if I have forgotten my Library Card number?
Feel free to visit us to get that information, or you can call us at 610-444-2702 and we can get that information to you over the phone.
What fees are associated with having a library card?
Your library card is totally free (even if you live out of state)!
Books and audiobooks circulate for three weeks and may be renewed once for three additional weeks and a final time for one week. Adult materials have an overdue fee of $.25/day past due and children’s materials have a fee of $.15/day.
How many items may I check out? How many items can I put on hold?
You may check out as many as 100 items from the Chester County System. You can put up to 30 items on hold simultaneously.
Where can I return my items when you are closed?
Feel free to drop items off in our book drop, located just outside our front door.
I checked out an item from another library in Chester County, can I return it at Kennett Library?
Absolutely! Any item checked out within the Chester County Library System can be dropped off at another County library.
