Requesting a Room

Interested in booking a room at the Kennett Library? Do you have staff meeting, training, or board meeting needs?

Room Booking Process:    

  1. Request a room electronically at the link below. Bookings must be made at least ONE WEEK in advance 
  2. Bookings can be made by following the “Request a Room” link below.
  3. Library staff will be in touch within 3 business days to approve (or deny) your request and collect payment/send an invoice to confirm your booking. 
Room bookings are typically meetings without catered food.

With the completion of the new Kennett Library & Resource Center building, the Kennett Library is happy to offer expanded room bookings to the community with the understanding that priority will be given to programs and meetings sponsored by the Kennett Library. Community organizations are encouraged to use the meeting room facilities at the Kennett Library for educational, cultural, and civic purposes. Room Bookings serve the popular, recreational, informational, and social needs of the general public and reflect equitable opportunity and engagement to a diverse community while promoting a culture of inclusion. There is a fee for using the meeting rooms, and use is subject to the conditions outlined below in the Room Booking Guidelines section:

ROOM BOOKING PROCESS:

  1. By submitting a room request electronically, individuals agree to abide by these guidelines.
  2. If a meeting request does not comply with the guidelines, access to the room will not be granted.
  3. Priority is given to programs and meetings sponsored by the Kennett Library.
  4. A meeting may be scheduled up to 90 days in advance but no sooner than two weeks. ( *see terrace and auditorium guidelines to book these spaces). 
  5. One booking can be made per individual/organization per month.
  6. The rooms can be booked for up to 4 hours, with a 2-hour minimum. Bookings for longer than 4 hours, please contact the staff to proceed. Contact the library with further questions 610-444-2702.
  7. Contact person accepts responsibility for the meeting room facility and will:
    1. Notify the library of any change in the meeting schedule.
    2. Will be notified of any library-initiated schedule changes.
    3. Will be contacted for public or media inquiries regarding the meeting or organization.

ROOM USE

  1. Participants, activities, and noise levels must be confined to the booked room.
  2. No outside alcohol or drugs are to be brought into the library. 
  3. No weapons are allowed.
  4. Outside food is allowed.
  5. Meetings must be concluded and the room must be returned to its original condition 30 minutes prior to the end of the Kennett Library’s business day. 
  6. All organizations and individuals must comply with the Fire Code (no open flames, candles, or tea lights are permitted, and room occupancy guides must be obeyed).
  7. Balloons and inflatables are prohibited in all rooms as well as the outside areas of the library.
  8. Sponsoring organizations or individuals are responsible for the deposit of all trash in containers.
  9. Sponsoring organizations or individuals arrange furniture and return it to the original location.

FINANCIAL DETAILS

  1. Any groups making sales donate 15% of the proceeds back to the library.  Author sales are 10%.
  2. Kennett Library reserves the right to cancel any event for any reason.  All reservations must be canceled prior to 24 hours in advance to receive a 50% refund.  100% refund if canceled 48 hours in advance.  All refunds are processed through the county library system and take up to 30 days to receive a check in the mail. No-shows are not subject to a refund.
  3. Weather-related cancellations:  While we will not offer refunds, we can offer a rescheduled date. 
  4. Booking is not finalized until payment is received in full. If payment is not received within 72 hours prior to the event, the reservation is canceled.

LIABILITY

  1. If any damage or loss occurs, the group using the room must pay for the repair or replacement of the items.
  2. All organizations and individuals will conduct programs and activities in facilities owned or operated by Kennett Library.  By submitting this form, organizations or individuals agree to monitor the activities to minimize the risk of injury to themselves and to the participants. With respect to any loss or injury arising from the programs and activities, organizations/individuals agree to release Kennett Library and the city or town from any liability and to indemnify and hold harmless Kennett Library and the city or town from any such claim. 

Corporate Retreats

A corporate retreat is an opportunity for team members to come together away from the office. 

Full and Half-day meeting packages are available. These include coffee, set up, and clean up in the space, with additional services available upon request.
