Kennett Library Giving Day
August 27, 2024
A day of giving and celebration — all are welcome!
12 pm – Family Activities
6 pm – Community Mural dedication
Followed by:
Light refreshments on the Melton Terrace and live jazz music by the Al Moretti Quartet
We’ve had an incredible year growing into our new space, building engaging programming, and further immersing ourselves in the fabric of our community.
This past year, we’ve seen an immense increase in cardholders, circulation, foot traffic, program attendance, and ALP enrollment. Gratitude simply doesn’t capture how we feel for this community and all who helped make this new library possible.
The day will feature the dedication of the Community Mural painted by artist Al Moretti. This mural represents much of the rich history of Southern Chester County. Just as the library was built by and for the community, our mural was designed by and for the community.

As we celebrate one year of incredible growth, we look forward to a future filled with promise. Your donation on Kennett Library Giving Day supports our mission to provide free resources, educational programs, and a welcoming space for all. Our best is yet to come, and with your support, our programs will continue to grow.
Help us reach our goal of $25,000 on our very first Giving Day!
Everyone who donates during #KennettLibraryGivingDay will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win tickets to one of two events:
- Our 2025 Starlight Soirée
- An upcoming Chef Massi cooking class
Details:
- We will pull three winners for each event above – that means there will be six winners and each winner gets a plus one.
- Only one raffle entry per person.
- You can donate to Kennett Library Giving Day from August 20th – August 28th.
- Winners will be chosen at random and announced on Friday, August 30th.
We’ve added even more excitement to our upcoming Kennett Library Giving Day:
- Those who donate $35 or more, will receive an “I ❤️ Kennett Library” car magnet (design will be unveiled soon).
- Those who donate $100 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a 4-hour cruise on the Chesapeake with Captain Cliff Sink for up to four people (valued at $700).
Details for the cruise:
- We will pull one winner for the cruise.
- Only one raffle entry per person.
- You can donate to Kennett Library Giving Day from August 20th – August 28th.
- Winners will be chosen at random and announced on Friday, August 30th.
